It's been quite an adjustment! He talks funny and it also makes eating a little challenging...but this is only the beginning for him. Every day Daddy or I have to "crank" it a little wider. He wears this for eight weeks and then it's phase two: the "tongue trainer".

Easter 2011...A Glimpse of Heaven
I seriously think the baby felt the same way--he was jumping for joy inside of me!
We were able to spend this Easter with the Marty side!
As usual, the food was exceptional!
My cut-out cookies! (it's a hobby) The Easter variety of these are my favorite ones to do!
And, lucky for me, Eden is old enough to help me now!
the kids table...they're getting so big???!!!

Our Little Princess Turns 5
Eden helped me SO MUCH with this party
"Pin the Jewelry on the Princess"
...not bad!
Craft time! I got these adorable wooden cut-out princesses for them to color.
Princess food: pizza, strawberries with whipped cream ("dip") and goldfish crackers--Briar's favorites

The WAY. TOO. LONG. Winter
This was the first snowfall, November 13th, 2010. They couldn't wait to get out there and play in it!
The new "winter scene" from the sunroom.
The kids would play outside until 9:00 pm almost daily! This is right out our front door. Truman has his snowball maker/launcher. They love to have snowball fights with the neighbors.
with cousins, Rose and Jimmy, after one of Truman's basketball games
I took this on April 16th (!!!!?????)
...it snowed again on April 20th
It was (IS?) the 4th snowiest winter on record in Minnesota. I gotta wonder, will it still be snowing in May...June?
Notice there are no kids in the last couple pictures.
We are all SICK. OF. IT.
