"FWEE"

I can't believe our baby is THREE!!! What a fun little girl Briar is. She's so cute and funny. She loves to make us laugh.

We had a special family party for her on the Sunday before her birthday. Since the cafe is closed on Sundays, we decided to celebrate there. I made some fun salty snacks and then we had cookies and brownies and ice cream in lieu of a birthday cake! We put the three candles in an ice cream cone for her!

Briar received packages of presents and cards in the mail! How fun to open them. Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes and gifts to her.

This sweet outfit is one of the presents that my mom and dad sent for her.

On the day of her birthday we had a fun dinner out on our deck. We grilled burgers and hung out and celebrated sweet little Briar. Then we invited everyone to join us and watch Briar blow out her three candles. My store-bought-would've-been-three-layer cake...sadly did not match up to neither Betty Crocker nor Duncan Hines! Sooooo I quickly whipped up [from scratch afterall] this chocolate one with pink frosting. I swallowed A LOT of pride as I was dumping the batter into this NINE BY THIRTEEN (read with teeth clenched)cake pan as there was no time left for layers. This is the first time I have ever served a birthday cake in a pan to one of my kids . But look at her sweet face...she has no idea.

For some unknown reason, every long detailed comment I make on your beautiful blog, comes back to me and tells me it can't deliver. Let me know if you receive them anyway, even if it tells me otherwise. I love reading your blog and seeing your very good looking family and all that God is doing in your lives. It is exciting to me.

What a cutie!!!! How can she be three already??!! (And I bet your cake was so delicious no matter what. I know presentation is supposed to be important or something, but seriously, isn't it yummy deliciousness - not to mention a delighted little girl - that counts at the end of the day??) Miss you!!
